Tawanda Freeman better known as Poizon I.V was born and raised in Cleveland, OH on September 30, to Steven Lamar Freeman and to the late Angela Diane Dublin. Poizon I.V began writing her own music when she was eight years old and has blazed stages all across Northeast, OH. At the age of 13, Poizon I.V began performing at urban festivals around Cleveland such as the Buckeye Fest, Glennville Fest and the Luke Easter Fest to name a few. Poizon I.V has marked the stage at various clubs in Ohio such as Peabody's, The Roc Bar, Club Earth and one of her earlier performances with a group at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In 2006 Poizon I.V’s song titled “Stop Front’n” produced by Charlie Wise was aired for a week straight on Cleveland’s mainstream radio station, Z107.9. In this same year, Ms. I.V’s first underground mix tape “Botulism” was produced and released by Rebel Army Radio’s Zesus Zaire.
In 2007 Poizon was nominated best female rap artist and earned another write-up in a local newspaper called the Call and Post which she has had quite a few write-ups in over a period of time. Poizon I.V has been interviewed, and her music is currently being aired on Wednesday mornings from 2:30am till 5:00am, on 91.1’s college radio station with DJ Tech at case Western Reserve.
Poizon’s second mix tape “Blow’n Up The Streets” was released on datpiff.com in 2010 and she is currently working on her latest album and mix tape not titled yet, but due to be released this year. Poizon I.V has accomplished a lot on her journey as an artist and performer, now she’s talking on the roll as business woman running her own company Poizon IV Productions, LLC and taking on a different avenue in her craft by acting.
Poizon I.V plans to give back to her community and help others incorporate their dreams and visions into reality. Poizon I.V is dedicated to her craft, motivated and ambitious. Only time will unleash all of the gifts bestowed upon this woman and all of what she has to offer to the world.
