Major drug bust on State Route 2... On 4/27/13 around 3:30 am an Officer stopped a 2007 Cadillac Escalade for traffic violations on Rt 2 westbound near the city limits. Mentor Police K9 Bo alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle. Officers then searched the SUV finding a loaded .40 caliber pistol in the driver’s door, a half kilogram of heroin and ¾ of a kilogram of cocaine. Also with the drugs Officers located over $100,000 in drug proceeds. The driver, Lee Davis of Cleveland, was charged with drug trafficking (with gun specifications), CCW and criminal tools. Davis did not know who owned the drugs or money. The Escalade was also seized as part of the investigation. These are Felony 1 drug offenses. Davis has since posted at $265,000 cash/surety bond set by Judge Trebets
